Jill grew up in England and spent countless hours wandering over the “Downs” collecting flowers, exploring hedgerows and enjoying the wonders of nature.
Jill always enjoyed creative pursuits and focused her creative studies at College and University. Eventually as a teacher in the U.K., U.S.A. and Canada, Jill was able to explore colour and design with students in courses such as Fashion Arts, Art and Interior Design.
Jill was a busy Mum with three sons as well as being a marathon runner, and had little time for creative pursuits outside the classroom. When she moved across Canada to retire in British Columbia Jill took the time to travel, hike and explore her creative interests. Predator Ridge and its environment provided the perfect place to be creative.
Jill has taken painting courses in Vernon as well as several workshops throughout the Okanagan. Moving to Canada and experiencing the vast and ever changing landscape has been the major inspiration for Jill’s paintings. She has a love of the outdoors and the colours associated with the changing seasons and has chosen watercolour and acrylic as the mediums to express this.
